Suor Maria Celestina, born in Bardi on the 9th July, 1915, celebrated her 100th birthday recently.

When Maria’s family left Bardi and moved to Caerau, Maesteg, South Wales, she remained in Bardi in order to help care for her grandmother who was terminally ill.

At the age of 22, Maria entered the convent of the Suore Immacolata in Mortara (PV). She then went to work in Cameri (NO) and dedicated her life to help those who were in need of support and guidance.

Aged 88, Maria was asked by Mother Superior, to take charge of the retirement home for sick and elderly nuns in Vigevano (PV). She has dedicated the last 78 years of her life to serve the disadvantaged.

Zia Suora – you’re a STAR!! A GREAT EXAMPLE TO ALL OF US.

CONGRATULATIONS, from your sister Adele Sidoli Ulberini, nephews Pino and Antonio, nieces Maria, Anna and Carla and their families.
