La Scampagnata is our flagship annual event and one of the highlights of the Amici Val Ceno calendar. It brings together friends and families from across the Welsh-Italian community for a traditional summer gathering.

At the heart of La Scampagnata is the family picnic. Everyone is welcome to bring their own food and drink, with families setting up their spot to their own needs. Go big with portable BBQs or pizza ovens, or stick with the classic tables, chairs and gazebo whilst settling in for the day. Whether it’s a few sandwiches or a full Italian feast, the bigger the picnic, the choice is yours. All we ask is that overns and BBQs are not placed directly onto the grass to ensure no scorching.

Throughout the day, there’ll be plenty of events. Children’s races and games, including sack races and relays, alongside our ever-popular tug of war. And let’s not forget our bocce tournament. the bocce is always a highlight, with plenty of friendly competition as teams battle it out. There’ll also be our popular raffle, with plenty of prizes up for grabs.

Whether you’ve been attending La Scampagnata for years or are joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome.

No need to prebook – just come along and enjoy the day!

Please note that as the field is used by a school during the week, dogs are not permitted.
